THE JUNIOR TRUMPET

Passionate 17-year-old Dubai student, Kiara Dhamecha has launched HEAL, a visionary initiative dedicated to addressing potential health challenges faced by labourers in the UAE. Driven by her love for medicine and unwavering commitment to community welfare, Dhamecha created HEAL to provide accessible healthcare services to the UAE’s labour market, alongside promoting preventative care and awareness. Her compassion and commitment to making a difference were the cornerstone of HEAL, which supports in regular health check-ups, improving health education, and promoting better hygiene practices. Educational workshops and materials are provided in multiple languages to ensure inclusivity and understanding, thereby helping recipients to implement healthier lifestyle practices.
“HEAL is not just about healthcare; it’s about compassion and empowerment. Every UAE resident deserves the best care and prioritsing the health of labourers is at the heart of what we do,” says Dhamecha. Founded in early 2024, HEAL achieved a major milestone within its first year by launching its inaugural health camp in December 2024, in partnership with Thumbay University Hospital, Ajman. The initiative provided free health checkups, screenings, health education workshops and preventative care resources to over 100 laborers. This health camp yielded impactful results, including the early detection of high cholesterol and prediabetes due to poor diet and insufficient rest, enabling timely interventions that could transform lives. HEAL is a self-funded initiative led by Dhamecha and a dedicated team of students, volunteers and healthcare professionals. The vision is to introduce the initiative across the UAE and collaborate with NGOs and other partners to further support their physical and mental health. HEAL is actively seeking sponsorships and community involvement to further its mission of becoming a platform for compassion and empowerment, where community members can come together to spread awareness, donate resources and volunteer their time to build a healthier and more equitable society.
